Guérande

City of art and history, Guérande was the City of the Dukes of Brittany and has managed to preserve, until today, the charm of medieval fortified towns.

The Pays de Guérande is also the "White Country", that of salt and salt marshes and the "Black Country", that of peat.

In the heart of the Guérande peninsula, the Regional Natural Park of La Briere is the second largest marshland in France. A landscape of stubble fields, canals, islets, wet meadows that can be explored on foot, in a horse-drawn carriage or in barges (flat-bottomed boats).
